HI, I’M ERIKA! THANK YOU FOR VISITING.

 

I live in Charlotte, NC with my wonderful husband and two children and two adorable and sometimes naughty dogs, Daisy and Humperdink.

I grew up in northern Virginia outside of Washington, D.C. as a daughter of two Latin American immigrants and spent summers running through coffee fields in Guatemala. These visits left me feeling like I was living two lives- one as an American girl in the suburbs, and the other as a Latina that wanted to embrace the magic and culture of her mom’s country.

I began writing memoir and essays in 2017 based on my childhood experiences and sharing them on my blog, Landings.

In 2021, I began writing my first children’s book, The Adventures of Amazing Grace about family, flying, magic and friendship! The book was inspired by a dream I had that turned into a bedtime story for my daughter. You can read more about that here.

The Adventures of Amazing Grace released in August 2023 and its sequel, Secrets of the Time Machine is due out August of 2026! Follow me on Instagram for updates!
